How To Melt Wax For Candle Making | 3 Best Ways To Melt Candle Wax

3 Most Useful Homemade Methods To Melt Wax For Candle Making

Method 1: Electric Wax Melter

If you want to melt wax quickly without stirring and waiting, use an electric pot. Double boiler-like.

Directions:

  1. Using a sharp knife, break paraffin wax into a plate. Each section is 1″ (2.5 cm) wide.
  2. Pelletized paraffin wax.
  3. Add 2 inches (5.1 cm) of water to your wax melting pot. Fill the large pot with a little pot of water.
  4. Melt 230 g paraffin wax. 230-gram mason jars are filled. Add color now.
  5. Melt waxes at 160-170°C for 10 minutes. 3-to-5 flame scale. Thermometer the heat. Minutely stir the wax.
  6. Add water if the large pots evaporate.
  7. Remove wax at 171°C. Refresh.
  8. Scent wax once it melts. When the wax is heated, add the scent. 30 seconds of stirring spreads it in wax.
  9. If your scent won’t mix, heat it to 185 °C.
  10. Use 28 grams of fragrance oil per 0.45 kg of regular wax.

Method 2: Double-Boiler Wax Melting 

A double boiler is a popular method for melting wax due to its convenient usage. Melting wax in a double boiler makes the smoothest candle mixture, and it’s easy to make at home.

Directions:

  1. If soy wax flakes aren’t pellets, break them up. Sharply chop soy wax bits. Each part should be 1 in. broad.
  2. If your wax is pellets.
  3. Melt soy wax in a double boiler. A large pot on one element. 2 inches of water half-filled (5.1 cm). Pour a smaller pot’s contents into the larger one.
  4. Use an electric stove instead of gas.
  5. Melt 230g soy wax. A 230-g mason jar is filled. Add color now.
  6. Melt waxes at 160-171°C for 10 minutes. The scale is 3–5. Thermometer the heat. Minutely stir the wax. Remove wax lumps.
  7. If the water evaporates, add extra.
  8. Remove wax at 171°C.
  9. Add scents to the melted wax. Add scent as the wax heated. Stir it in wax for 30 seconds.
  10. Raise the temperature to 185 °C if your smell isn’t mixing.11g of scent per 0.45kg of soy wax is safe.

Method 3: Microwave Wax Melting

The microwave is a quick and easy way to melt wax without buying an electric melting pot. 

Directions:

  1. Break beeswax pallets and slice larger pieces. Each part should be 1 in. broad.
  2. Pellets.
  3. 230 g beeswax pellets. A 230-gm mason jar is filled. Candle-making color or crayon flakes can color wax.
  4. Only use microwave-safe plastic. Plates should say “microwave-safe” or “heatproof.”
  5. Microwave beeswax pallets. Remove and swirl the wax afterward. Check for melting or flashpoint. In 2-minute intervals, melt the wax.
  6. Every 30 seconds, check your beeswax.
  7. Scent melting wax. Add fragrance to microwaved wax bowl. Use a tiny spoon to mix items.
  8. Follow the fragrance manufacturer’s instructions. 0.45 kg of wax requires 28 g of aroma.
  9. Warm wax for 2 minutes. Microwave wax after adding scents. Melt the wax for 2 minutes to combine all components, then form candles.
